Mediation

Mediation is a highly effective conflict management practice that can help resolve disputes and restore balance. It has become increasingly popular in recent years because it offers a real alternative solution to conflict resolution that is more effective and faster than legal proceedings. This will enable people to go beyond the subject of the conflict and explore their needs, concerns, interests and values. Mediation has evolved into a dynamic field with various approaches tailored to address different types of conflicts.

Among these approaches, transformative mediation and systemic mediation stand out as powerful yet distinct frameworks.

While transformative mediation focuses on empowerment and recognition between disputants, systemic mediation views conflict as a manifestation of deeper systemic issues within relationships, organizations, or families.

Integrating transformative and systemic mediation offers a holistic and adaptive approach to conflict resolution.

By combining personal empowerment and systemic awareness, mediators can foster both relational healing and structural change, leading to more sustainable and meaningful conflict resolutions. This blended approach is particularly effective in family disputes, workplace conflicts, and community mediation, where both individual agency and systemic influences play crucial roles.

Each has its own advantages and disadvantages and may be more or less suitable for a given situation, depending on the needs and objectives of each party.

Neurocognitive
& Behavioural Approach

Integrating the neurocognitive and behavioral approach into the mediation process involves considering the cognitive and behavioral aspects of the parties involved in the conflict.

This can be achieved by using neuroscience-based techniques to better understand the emotional reactions and decision-making processes of individuals.

Emotional regulation exercises can help parties manage their stress and emotions during mediation sessions. In addition, by understanding the cognitive processes involved in conflict resolution, mediators can adapt their approach to help parties find solutions more effectively.

The Neuro Cognitive and Behavioral Approach is based on 30 years of interdisciplinary research and field expertise. It offers innovative tools and frameworks for identifying limiting and blocking mechanisms, and a better managing situations of tension and stress
